2001: Fourth on the team with 20 strikeouts…suffered the loss against the Cyclones (7/14), giving up two runs on six hits while striking out four in 7.0 innings…earned his first professional victory against Vermont (7/3), pitching 6.0 innings, allowing two runs on four hits and striking out eight…gave up five runs on seven hits, striking out two against Utica (6/26)…pitched just 2/3 of an inning in his debut against Lowell on 6/20…did not continue the game due to rain-suspension…charged with one run, a hit batter. At Univ. of Tampa: Manning was 10-4 with a 2.83 ERA in 2001, starting in 15 games. He also hit for a .343 average with four home runs and 18 RBI in 70 at-bats.
