 Pitched one inning of relief against Vermont…earned his first win of the season in a 10-inning 13-3 victory over Mahoning Valley (7/13)…gave up two hits and striking out one in that outting…got touched up for two runs on three hits against the Spinners (6/22)…pitched just one inning against Lowell (6/21)…gave up one run on one hit, striking out two and walking two. At Lamar: Cooksey posted a 5-4 record and a 2.55 ERA in 29 appearances in 2001. He led the Cardinals with eight save, which is the school’s single-season record. He earned honorable mention All-Southland Conference honors and was named to the SLC All-Tournament team.
