Staten Island, NY – The Staten Island Yankees have announced that they will begin selling playoff tickets for the 2002 NY-Penn League Playoffs this Monday, September 2. The playoffs are slated to begin on September 6th. The first Yankee home game is still to be determined.
Season ticket holders and mini-plan holders have already been given the opportunity to purchase tickets for the playoffs. They have until 3:00 p.m. on Monday, September 2 to purchase their tickets. At 3:00 p.m., tickets to the first game of the playoffs will go on sale to the general public. Additional playoff games tickets will be made available as the Yankees advance. Ticket prices will remain $10 for box seats, $8 for reserve seats.
Tickets will be available online (www.siyanks.com), by phone (718-720-9200) or in person at the box office. Box office hours on Monday will begin at 11:00 a.m. and will close at the end of the Yankees-Cardinals game that evening.
The Yankees are currently sitting in first place in the McNamara Division. With a 45-23 record, the Yankees are three games ahead of Williamsport in the standings and have the best winning percentage of any team in the NY-Penn League. They have won 13 of their last 15 games and nine in a row. In their win streak, the pitching staff has notched five shutouts. They are the top pitching staff in the league, boasting a 2.54 ERA with 577 strikeouts to 160 walks.
The team will go on the road for three games to Auburn to face the Doubledays. They will return for a home-and-home series against the New Jersey Cardinals on September 2nd. September 2nd will be Fireworks Night. September 4th will be Fan Appreciation Night.
