STATEN ISLAND YANKEES NAME STEVE LENOX DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC RELATIONS AND BROADCASTING

Staten Island, NY – The Staten Island Yankees, the Single-A Affiliate of the 25-Time World Champion New York Yankees announce they have named Steve Lenox as their Director of Public Relations and Broadcasting. 

The Shelter Island, NY native is entering his fourth season in professional baseball and third in the New York-Pennsylvania League. Lenox will serve as the Yankees radio broadcaster and contribute to the team’s publications and marketing departments.

“I am very excited about working for the first minor league baseball team in New York City,” said Lenox.  “The opportunities that exist in New York are not always available in other minor league markets.  I am looking forward to continuing my sports broadcasting career in the media capital of the world.”

The 25-year-old worked with the New York-Penn League’s Batavia Muckdogs as the team’s Director of Media Relations and Broadcasting for two seasons after graduating from SUNY Brockport in 1997.  He served as the assistant director of media relations and broadcasting with the Carolina League Champion Wilmington Blue Rocks in 1999.

The Staten Island Yankees are beginning their second year of existance in the New York-Penn League.  The Baby Bombers will play their 38-game home schedule at the College of Staten Island in 2000 and begin play in  their brand new ballpark at St. George in 2001.
